Week of February 6th - February 10th

 Hello families,

What an amazing week of Art and teamwork! A huge thank you to all of the volunteers over the week it was so amazing to have you with us.

This week in Arts Commons, we got to experience various types of art and skills. We got to see the physical and technical demands of putting on a performance through our tours which even led us to getting to walk across a lighting grid. As the students made their own art, they played around with watercolour and straws to make monsters and see that they can make beautiful art regardless of mistakes they make.

We played a lot of drama games as well which really gave the chance for each person in the class to shine in their own way. Some people worked the lighting, some people made sounds for the play, while others acted and narrated. Everyone has a strength in our class and it was so nice to work together and build our community together.

Lastly, we had amazing experts guiding us through different skills. We had Bubba B help the students create a rap and Julie Funk walked us through dance and yoga. It was so great letting the students dive into the different types of art and seeing how they can connect with art.
