Week of April 3rd - April 6th

Hope everyone had a relaxing long weekend! I should have sent this on Thursday so my apologies.

Last week students wrapped up their Chemistry unit. Their concept map for the unit will be due on Tuesday in case they needed extra time to complete it. This should be a quick snapshot of the unit for them to be able to review, should they ever need to. This week we welcomed Ms. Connellan back into our classroom for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. She will be taking on teaching our next Science Unit, Evidence and Investigation.

In Math, Grade 6 students are continuing their adventure into algebra and balancing equations. Grade 5's spent time in real world math and are looking at mixing measurement (perimeter/area), ratios and fractions creating a real world garden.

In Social Studies we have been learning about the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. To connect this to ideas they are exposed to everyday, the students created a class Charter of Rights and Freedoms that reflects their rights and freedoms in the classroom.

We completed our Dot Art! Please see below how they turned out.

This week will be participating in Alien In-line skating. Students are welcome to bring their own helmet if it is CSA approved. Our first day will be Tuesday.

Our final trip to Arts Commons is April 25th. Field trip forms will be coming home next week. We do require volunteers so if you are able, please let me know!

Have a wonderful day and I'll see the kiddos tomorrow!
